Fired Workers Sue Trucking Co. Over Failure To Warn

Law360, New York (May 22, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Former employees of now-insolvent Jevic Transportation Inc. have sued the trucking company for firing them just before slipping into bankruptcy, saying they should have been given advance notice of the terminations on the horizon.

The lawsuit, filed Wednesday in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware, claims Jevic violated federal labor laws when it terminated approximately 1,200 employees before filing for Chapter 11 on Tuesday.
