ALI Puts Off Vote On Employment Law Restatement

Law360, New York (May 23, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A controversial vote on a draft for a proposed restatement of employment law was put off Wednesday, and the draft was sent back to its authors for further revisions.

The American Law Institute — a private body of judges, lawyers and law professors — was scheduled to vote on whether to adopt chapters of the draft involving the definition of an employee, contractual law dealing with employee termination and the tort of retaliation in violation of public policy.
