FERC Endorses New Version Of Reliability Standard

Law360, New York (May 27, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The U.S. Federal Energy Regulatory Commission has proposed to approve a new interpretation of one of its reliability standards for balancing authorities.

The North American Electric Reliability Corp., or NERC, the national nonprofit electric reliability organization, offered a modified version of FERC's reliability standard that obligates each balancing authority to annually check and calibrate its time-error and frequency devices against a common reference.
