Whole Foods CEO Regrets Posts But Slams Media

Law360, New York (May 28, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Whole Foods Market Inc. CEO John Mackey has apologized to company stakeholders and criticized the media for “malicious speculation” and “misleading coverage” about his anonymous Web postings against then-rival Wild Oats Markets Inc. that spurred investigations by the company and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

Mackey returned to blogging on the company's site on May 21 after the company's board reaffirmed its support for him and the SEC recommended no enforcement action against him or Whole Foods.
