PTO To Look At 9 Patents In Microsoft, Avistar Dispute

Law360, New York (June 2, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has responded to Microsoft Corp.'s challenge of Avistar Communications Corp.'s entire U.S. patent portfolio by deciding to re-examine nine Avistar patents but rejecting the software giant's request to re-examine 14 others.
