Cephalon Sues Watson To Block Generic Fentora

Law360, New York (June 3, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Cephalon Inc. has filed a patent infringement lawsuit against Watson Pharmaceuticals to prevent the generics manufacturer from marketing a copycat of painkiller Fentora.

The Frazier, Penn.-based drug company announced on Tuesday that it filed the lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware, alleging that Watson had infringed two patents through its abbreviated new drug application for tablets of fentanyl buccal, the active ingredient in Fentora.
