H&R Block Accused Of Biased Lending Practices

Law360, New York (June 3, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Massachusetts authorities have slapped H&R Block Inc. and subsidiary Option One Mortgage Corp. with a lawsuit alleging they discriminated against black and Hispanic borrowers in the state by charging them higher fees to close their loans.

The lawsuit, filed Tuesday in Suffolk County Superior Court, claims that Option One and H&R Block targeted minority consumers with marketing that pushed the sale of predatory loan products.
