Jury Hits Takeda With $2M In Damages In Philly Actos Case

Ltd. with over $2 million in damages Friday afternoon after finding that the diabetes drug Actos had contributed to a plaintiff's bladder cancer and that the company had failed to adequately warn physicians about the risks associated with the medication.

After five hours of deliberation, eight out of nine jurors agreed to award plaintiff Frances Wisniewski $2,050,000 as part of a verdict finding that Takeda negligently failed to include adequate information about the potential links to bladder cancer on Actos warning labels.
