EU Committee OKs Compromise On Gas Unbundling

Law360, New York (June 5, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A committee of the European Parliament has backed a recent European Commission proposal to liberalize gas markets, aiming to strike a compromise with countries that oppose completely unbundling gas suppliers from transmission networks.

The Parliament's Committee on Industry, Research and Energy voted Thursday to endorse the compromise, 31 to 16, with two abstentions.
