Leading Polluters Form Energy Efficiency Partnership

Law360, New York (June 9, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- As oil prices climb to record highs, the world's leading polluters have pledged to enhance energy security, ensure economic growth and mitigate climate change by promoting energy efficiency.

At a Group of Eight meeting in Japan, the G8 countries – United States, United Kingdom, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Russia and Japan – along with China, South Korea and India agreed on Sunday to establish an International Partnership for Energy Efficiency Cooperation.
