Three Brits Get Jail Time For Marine Hose Cartel

Law360, New York (June 11, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A British court has sentenced three businessmen charged with participating in a marine hose cartel to between two and a half and three years’ imprisonment, marking the first convictions for cartel offenses since criminal prosecution powers were given to the United Kingdom’s competition regulator.

The Southwark Crown Court on Wednesday handed the jail sentences to Bryan Allison, the managing director of Dunlop Oil & Marine Ltd.; David Brammar, Dunlop's sales and marketing director; and independent consultant Peter Whittle.
