Apple May Not Be Done With GTAT After It Clears Ch. 11

Law360, New York (October 23, 2014, 8:14 PM EDT) -- Apple Inc. said Thursday that a now-finalized settlement with bankrupt GT Advanced Technologies Inc. could pave the way for the two to resume doing business once GT exits the sapphire production business responsible for its abrupt collapse.

The rare public comment from Apple appears to support GT’s ambitions to reorganize the still-viable elements of its business as a going concern as it navigates a bankruptcy that has unfolded under a veil of secrecy due to a strict confidentiality pact between the two companies.
