EU Charges E.ON, Gaz de France With Collusion

Law360, New York (June 12, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- After a drawn-out investigation, the European Commission on Thursday formally charged E.ON Ruhrgas AG and Gaz de France, both the largest suppliers of natural gas in their respective countries, with colluding to raise prices.

The commission sent a statement of objections to the heads of E.ON and GDF, accusing the energy giants of entering into a market-sharing agreement for natural gas in France and Germany.
