Oregon Judges Side With Medical Marijuana User

Law360 (June 12, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- In a decision one expert describes as "largely procedural" and an "anomaly," an Oregon appeals court has affirmed an administrative judge's ruling in favor of a steelworker who was fired for his medical use of marijuana.

The Court of Appeals of the State of Oregon on Wednesday affirmed the final order of the Bureau of Labor and Industries against Emerald Steel Fabricators Inc., ruling the company had failed to reasonably accommodate an employee's disability when it terminated the worker for using marijuana.
