Child's Family Wins $13.5M In Sizzler E. Coli Suit

Law360, New York (June 16, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The family of a 3-year-old girl who died from E. coli poisoning after eating at a Sizzler in Milwaukee has reached a $13.5 million settlement with the chain restaurant and its former meat supplier, Cargill Inc.

Under the settlement, Cargill will pay $8.5 million for its own liability and $2 million on behalf of former Sizzler franchisee E&B Management Co. as its contractual indemnitor. Sizzler paid $3 million several years ago.
