JP Morgan Islamic Finance Exec Held In Dubai

Law360, New York (June 16, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- JP Morgan Chase & Co.'s managing director of Islamic banking in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, has reportedly been detained there as part of a fraud investigation.

Omair Mooraj, who joined JP Morgan in September, is one of several people being detained by Dubai police as part of a widening probe of Mooraj's former employer, Dubai Islamic Bank, Zawya Dow Jones reported Monday, citing anonymous police sources.

JP Morgan officials in London and Dubai declined to comment about the detainment, the wire service reported.
