Union Sues D.C. Attorney General For Attorney Firings

Law360, New York (June 17, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A union representing eight lawyers who were fired from the District of Columbia's attorney general's office is demanding arbitration and an injunction against the terminations.

The American Federation of Government Employees filed the lawsuit on Friday in the D.C. Superior Court. The suit says the attorney general's office is falsely claiming that the terminations are performance-based to avoid arbitration or other procedures mandated by a collective bargaining agreement.
