FDA Warns Companies That Sell Fake Cancer Cures

Law360, New York (June 18, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The U.S. Food and Drug Administration is cracking down on companies that purport to sell cancer “cures” over the Internet.

The FDA has sent warning letters to 23 U.S. companies and two foreign individuals who market products that claim to prevent or cure cancer. The FDA is also urging consumers to avoid using the products, some of which could have adverse effects, the agency said.
