Medtronic Judge OKs Protocol For Attorneys' Fees

Law360 (June 18, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A judge overseeing the multidistrict litigation over Medtronic Inc.'s allegedly faulty defibrillators signed off Tuesday on a protocol for evaluating the allocation of attorneys' fees in the case, which the medical device maker agreed last December to pay $141.1 million to settle.

Judge Arthur J. Boylan of the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota adopted the protocol proposed by the common benefit attorneys’ fee committee, which was appointed in May.
