Cutting Outside Legal Costs Tops GC To-Do Lists

By Aebra Coe (November 12, 2014, 2:58 PM EST) -- Reducing spending on outside counsel is currently the primary goal of corporate legal offices, and many general counsels see bringing more work in-house as a means to that end, according to the results of a LexisNexis survey released Monday.

Nearly two-thirds of corporate counsel said reducing outside counsel spending is their top department goal and more than half said they plan to accomplish that by doing more legal work internally, according to results of the online poll that was conducted and analyzed by a team of LexisNexis consultants.
