Seagate And Cornice Agree To End Hostilities

Law360, New York (April 3, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Laying down their swords, disk-drive makers Seagate Technology and Cornice Inc. have finalized a settlement, putting to end their long-standing patent dispute over tiny disk drives.

The companies announced the deal on Monday, nearly eight months after entering into a partial settlement to halt Seagate’s complaint before the U.S. International Trade Commission.

The pending Delaware litigation will now also be dismissed, with the duo promising to refrain from suing each other for patent infringement through the end of 2007.
