Suppliers Sued In Duke Hospital Contamination

Law360, New York (June 19, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Patients at Duke University Health System hospitals who were inadvertently exposed to surgical tools soaked in used elevator hydraulic fluid have filed suit against the hospitals' suppliers.

Sixty-seven people have signed onto the suit, which was filed Tuesday in Durham County Superior Court in North Carolina. The plaintiffs settled with Duke University Health System before bringing the suit against Cardinal Health 200 Inc., Steris Corp., and nine Cardinal employees accused of causing the mixup at Duke's two North Carolina hospitals in 2004.
