U.S., China Applaud Progress On Food Safety Plan

Law360, New York (June 19, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The United States and China signed a joint progress statement on Wednesday that outlines the steps both nations have taken since their last memorandum of agreement to ensure the safety of international food and feed imports.

“Today's progress report reflects strong and sustained cooperation by both nations to strengthen the safety of food products exported to the United States from China,” said U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services Mike Leavitt.
