InBev Ups Pressure After Bud Maker Snubs Deal

Law360, New York (June 27, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Belgian-Brazilian beer maker InBev has filed a lawsuit in a Delaware state court to remind Anheuser-Busch Co. Inc. shareholders of their right to unseat board members who object to its proposed $46 billion merger with the Budweiser maker.

The maker of Stella Artois and Becks beers said it remained hopeful of an amicable deal with the U.S. beer giant, but was seeking a declaratory ruling by the Delaware Chancery Court confirming the right of Anheuser shareholders to dislodge the company's board of directors.
