IRS Wants Transfer Pricing Testimony From Microsoft Execs
Law360, New York (January 2, 2015, 4:18 PM EST) -- The Internal Revenue Service has issued summons enforcement actions against several current and former Microsoft Corp. executives, including former CEO Steve Ballmer, seeking information on the company's transfer pricing practices, according to court documents.
The IRS has filed enforcement actions in Washington federal court against Ballmer, five other current and former Microsoft employees, the company, and accounting firm Ernst & Young LLP in relation to its audit of Microsoft for 2004 through 2006, the government said in a Dec. 24 filing. The IRS has also filed actions against Microsoft employees in two California federal courts, according to the filing.
