Bavarian Nordic Sues Oxford BioMedica Over Patents

Law360, New York (July 1, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A year after Bavarian Nordic settled a global patent feud with Acambis over a smallpox vaccine, the biopharmaceutical company is suing Oxford BioMedica Inc. over patents related to the same virus.

Denmark-based Bavarian Nordic owns several patents related to a virus known as MVA-BN, which is used for its small pox vaccine and can be also used as a vector to deliver vaccines against cancer and other diseases.
