Ford's $100M Airbag Patent Suit Changes Venues

Law360, New York (April 11, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A patent infringement lawsuit seeking $100 million from Ford Motor Co. has been transferred to Ford’s venue-of-choice after settlement talks over an inventor’s airbag technology collapsed.

The suit, filed in July 2005 by inventor Joseph A. Fleming, accused the auto maker of violating a non-disclosure agreement allegedly brokered in 1996, when Fleming was helping Ford develop safer airbags that don't harm children.
