Law360, New York (July 8, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- An appeals court has partially affirmed and partially vacated a district court ruling granting defendant Church of Scientology International Inc.'s cross-motions for summary judgment in a copyright infringement suit over a sales technique book.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit on Tuesday upheld the ruling for summary judgment on three of the four counts in the case, but vacated the lower court's decision to dismiss the first count under the fair use doctrine and laches and remanded that claim to the U.S. District...
