AT&T, Qualcomm Ask Fed. Circ. To Bury TV Patent Suit

Law360, Washington (February 2, 2015, 1:55 PM EST) -- Several technology companies, including AT&T Mobility LLC and Qualcomm Inc., urged a Federal Circuit panel Monday not to resurrect Eon Corp. IP Holdings LLC's patent infringement suit over interactive television software, saying the claims were rightly rejected by a Delaware federal court for being indefinite.

U.S. District Judge Richard G. Andrews was correct to determine in a March ruling that Eon's eight patents for the software were overly broad since they did not specify the algorithm needed to achieve the interactive function, the companies told the three-judge panel.
