Publishing Group Backs Antitrust Suit Against Amazon

Law360 (July 10, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- An alliance of independent publishers has thrown its support behind an antitrust class action that accuses Inc. of illegally tying the use of its Internet site to the printing services of a subsidiary.

Directors of the Small Publishers Association of North America voted to back the lawsuit, brought by a print-on-demand book publisher in May, saying the group had launched a public campaign to pressure Amazon to reverse its policy.
