Nvidia Accuses Rambus Of DDR Standards Monopoly

Law360, New York (July 14, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Graphics chip maker Nvidia Corp. on Friday filed a lawsuit against Rambus Inc., becoming the latest to take issue with the tech giant's allegedly anti-competitive conduct in setting memory chip standards.

The lawsuit echoes similar suits against Rambus by Hynix Semiconductor Inc., Micron Technology Inc. and Nanya Technology Corp., as well as a dispute with the Federal Trade Commission that is currently in a federal appeals court.

According to the Nvidia suit, Rambus approached the graphics card company to seek a license and contemporaneously threatened litigation....
