Telstra Dismisses Rivals’ Alternative Network Plan

Law360, New York (April 21, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Seven rivals of Telstra Corp. mapped out a proposal on Friday to collaborate with the top Australian telecommunications company to develop a $2.2 billion high-speed network, but Telstra said it had no interest in participating in what it described as a “self-serving stunt.”

Telstra, which is in the process of constructing its own $2.2 billion high-speed network, said its competitors are capable of developing their own network.
