Dutch Court Rules Boston Scientific's Taxus Infringed Medinol Patent

Law360, New York (December 17, 2003, 12:00 AM EST) -- The District Court of the Hague in the Netherlands ruled that two products by Boston Scientific infringed a patent by Israel-based Medinol, but imposed minimal restrictions on Boston Scientific's right to sell the heart devices in Europe.

Medinol had claimed that Boston Scientific infringed four European patents and requested that the company be barred from selling its Express coronary stent or Taxus drug-eluting stent system in 16 European countries.
