Windshield Antitrust Suit Against State Farm Tossed

Law360, New York (July 15, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal appeals court has thrown out antitrust claims made by the inventor of a windshield-repair system against State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Co. and auto-glass claims-management company Lynx Services Inc.

On Tuesday, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit affirmed the lower court's decision to dismiss Richard Campfield's claim that defendants violated the Sherman Act by recommending that insured car owners replace, rather than fix, windshields damaged by cracks longer than six inches.
