Online Retailers Face Suit Over Web Marketing Patent

Law360, New York (July 16, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A patent-holding company has sued MAACO Enterprises Inc., America's Contacts & Eyeglasses Inc. and several other online retailers for using Web sites that allegedly infringe a patent for a communication link between remote facilities.

Variant Inc. filed the lawsuit on Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Wisconsin, claiming that the companies infringe a patent issued less than two months ago.
