AOL Settles VoIP Patent Dispute With Holding Co.

Law360, New York (April 24, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Agreeing to a licensing deal, media conglomerate America Online Inc. has reached a settlement in a $200 million patent infringement lawsuit filed by the inventor of an increasingly popular feature of Internet voicemail service.

While the financial terms of the lawsuit have not been made public, the license agreement will grant Virginia-based AOL access to certain voice-over-internet-protocol technology held by patent-holding and licensing company Klausner Technologies Inc.
