Supreme Court Solicits View In Microsoft-AT&T Brawl

Law360, New York (April 24, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Still mulling over whether to hear Microsoft Corp.’s appeal, the U.S. Supreme Court has asked for the federal government’s take on the software giant’s long-standing patent feud with AT&T Corp. over digital speech code technology distributed overseas.

On Monday, the High Court asked the U.S. Solicitor General's office to file a brief in the case and deliver its opinion on whether infringement damages in U.S. patent law extend to software products sold overseas.
