Public Cos. Fill Week’s IPO Void With Follow-On Offerings

Law360, New York (February 27, 2015, 8:34 PM EST) -- Not a single company launched an initial public offering during the final week of February, but already-public companies filled the void with nearly $5.2 billion worth of follow-on offerings priced, as a handful of drugmakers targeted capital for operations and acquisitions and a retailer charted an exit for its private equity backers.

The week was an extremely quiet one for new issuers, as not a single company priced an IPO, fewer than five companies joined the pipeline, and only two set terms. The week also saw a real estate investment trust pull its planned IPO.
