Amid Pressure, Bush Launches Probe Into Oil Industry

Law360, New York (April 25, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- With summer fast approaching and oil prices continuing to skyrocket, President George W. Bush has caved into pressure from consumers and lawmakers alike and ordered an investigation into possible price-gouging by oil companies.

Bush announced the probe in a speech on Tuesday in Washington, responding to growing demands for an investigation into the surging gasoline prices.
