EU Accuses Intel Of Violating Competition Law

Law360, New York (July 17, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The European Commission has filed yet another statement of objections accusing Intel Corp. of violating European Union competition law.

The EC confirmed on Thursday that it had sent a supplementary statement of objections to Intel.

The statement reinforces the allegations made in a statement of objections sent last July, which accused Intel of abusing its dominant market position by attempting to exclude fellow chip-maker AMD from the market for x86 central processing units, the commission said.
