RNC Hassles Web Site Over GOP-Themed Merchandise

Law360, New York (July 18, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The Republican National Committee has demanded that an online merchant for consumer-designed products stop selling T-shirts, bumper stickers and tote bags that contain the official Republican elephant logo and other symbols that allegedly violate its trademarks.

In a series of letters to CafePress.com, the last of which was sent in May, the RNC said it would consider legal action if the products in question continued to be sold. But thus far, CafePress has refused to take them off its Web site.
