Politics, Thorny Issues To Show Up In Antitrust Report

Law360, New York (April 27, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A panel charged with reviewing U.S. antitrust policy has given little indication of its possible recommendations to Congress, leaving observers wondering what the Antitrust Modernization Commission is up to.

After three years of investigation and discussion, the Commission will make several recommendations for improving antitrust policy in the U.S next spring. What’s uncertain, however, is whether the Commission will make suggestions based on ideal policy or will limit itself to proposals that are likely to be passed by Congress.
