Dov Charney Wants $40M Over American Apparel Firing

By Jonathan Randles (March 27, 2015, 12:51 PM EDT) -- American Apparel Inc. founder Dov Charney is seeking $40 million in damages related to an alleged breach of his employment contract and wrongful termination related to his ouster from the company, his attorney said Friday.

The damages Charney is seeking include $6 million in severance, $1.3 million in unpaid vacation time, the value of 13 million company shares and at least $10 million for emotional distress related to his firing, according to a letter sent to American Apparel attorney last week.
