FTC Launches Formal Investigation Into Immucor

Law360, New York (July 25, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The U.S. Federal Trade Commission has served Immucor Inc. with a formal civil investigative demand concerning a series of acquisitions the maker of blood-bank instruments made in the 1990s.

The demand, issued July 11, formalized an investigation begun last year into whether Immucor violated federal antitrust laws or otherwise engaged in unfair competition, the company said in its latest 10-K filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
