Murkowski Demands More Alaska Drilling Options

Law360, New York (April 1, 2015, 7:05 PM EDT) -- U.S. Sen. Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska, has asked that more potential oil and natural gas reserves off the coast of Alaska be included in a five-year leasing plan, including one 9.8 million-acre area President Barack Obama has designated as off-limits for future drilling.

In a Monday letter to the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, Murkowski said that the president's action undermined the public's trust in a process that was supposed to include robust public discourse as the agency works toward approving its proposed 2017-2022 Outer Continental Shelf...
