Seven Patents Dropped From GE Patent Battle

Law360, New York (July 28, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The federal judge overseeing the extensive ultrasound patent dispute between General Electric Co. and SonoSite Inc. has ruled that seven of the patents involved in the suit were not infringed.

In an order issued Thursday, Judge Barbara Crabb of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Wisconsin granted summary judgment of noninfringement to SonoSite on five patents asserted by GE and granted summary judgment of noninfringement to GE on two patents asserted by SonoSite.
