Chinese Court Affirms Trader's Death Sentence

Law360, New York (July 28, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A Chinese court has reportedly upheld a death sentence imposed on a former securities trader accused of embezzling 97.56 million yuan ($14.3 million) several years ago.

The sentence of Yang Yanming, the former general manager of the Beijing securities trading department of the China Great Wall Trust and Investment Corp., was affirmed by the Beijing Higher People's Court, Reuters reported Sunday, citing the state-owned newspaper, the Legal Daily.
