Range Resources Loses Bid To Shield Fracking Chemical Info

By Caroline Simson (April 15, 2015, 5:25 PM EDT) -- A Pennsylvania appeals court on Tuesday declined to review an order directing Range Resources Corp. to produce proprietary information on chemicals supplied by third parties to its Marcellus Shale drilling site in a dispute over alleged personal injuries and property damage caused by contamination at the site.

The three-judge panel determined that Range Resources didn't have a sufficient interest in the proprietary information it is trying to protect, because only the manufacturers of those chemicals had a right to assert such protection. As a result, Range Resources couldn't meet the importance prong that would allow the court to review the collateral...
