FDA Seizes $24M In Unapproved Drugs From KV

Law360, New York (July 30, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has seized $24.2 million worth of unapproved newly manufactured drugs from KV Pharmaceutical Co. following an inspection of KV plants.

FDA agents and U.S. marshals seized the drugs in raids on Wednesday after U.S. Attorney Catherine L. Hanaway obtained a warrant by filing a lawsuit against the company.

"American consumers are entitled to have safe and effective drugs,” Hanaway said.
