China Suspends Controversial Banking Tech Rules

Law360, New York (April 17, 2015, 11:10 AM EDT) -- Chinese regulators have reportedly told banks to suspend the implementation of controversial cybersecurity rules covering the banking sector that created trade tensions between the U.S. and China. 

In a letter dated Monday that was sent to banks, the China Banking Regulatory Commission and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology called for a suspension of the implementation of the rules, which required companies that sell computer equipment to Chinese banks to turn over sensitive material including source code, The New York Times reported on Friday....
